Tarpon puts fishing back on Monster Mike's upload shelf

The channel's only new release features a big-fish title, while BryanTheCEO's air-cannon clips remain active.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Catching BIG Tarpon!!!

Monster Mike Fishing brought out "Catching BIG Tarpon!!!" as its sole new upload, returning the week's attention to fish after the recent run of air-cannon pranks. It was only five hours into its release, with a few hundred views, so this is an early start rather than a verdict on the outing.

The contrast is very Monster Mike: a channel whose regular-video catalog includes homemade fish ponds and a gumball-machine aquarium also has plenty of room for practical jokes. Right now, "Top 5 Air Cannon Prank Snipes by BryanTheCEO 😂" is drawing the most daily views among its active uploads, followed by two more air-cannon videos. The tarpon has arrived on a shelf where the prank equipment hasn't been packed away.

Across the channel, the week brought roughly 4.7 million views, while subscribers held steady at 2.88 million. Daily viewing is currently about half its usual level. In the wider prank-and-hidden-camera neighborhood, Family Friendly and Moments Brain both had growing subscriber audiences; Just For Laughs Gags was closer to its normal daily viewing pace.

For Monster Mike, the new release is a straightforward change of subject: back from air cannons to a fish famous for giving anglers a demanding encounter.
