Milo and Chip turn Minecraft into a screaming contest

Five new adventures also bring rising butter, twin-baby duties and a cardboard-house upgrade.

Chip has a tower to build before melted butter catches him, but even that predicament wasn't Milo and Chip's biggest new draw. "Who Can Scream the Loudest in Minecraft?" was the most-watched of their five uploads, reaching about 600,000 views.

The screaming contest gave viewers an easy invitation to compare their own volume. One commenter says rock 'n' roll is the only thing that makes them scream; others point out the Warden, Minecraft's particularly sound-sensitive threat.

Elsewhere, the duo's Minecraft roleplay made ordinary responsibilities considerably less ordinary. "SQUISHY BUTTER Rises Every Minute" turns a squished butter creation into a rising hazard. "My Mom is PREGNANT with TWINS!" is a fictional family adventure involving feeding, diapers and a runaway stroller, not a real-life pregnancy announcement. Their chunk-house challenge starts with cardboard and the possibility of trading up to a diamond mansion, while the teacher-pranking story asks what happens when the teacher actually quits.

The busiest viewing, though, belongs to adventures posted just before this upload week. Their Cat in the Hat security-house challenge is drawing the most daily views, followed by "The Sad Story of the Duck Song," a rescue quest involving magic golden grapes and the Lemonade Man.

Across the channel, weekly viewing reached roughly 36 million, the largest total among its nearby Minecraft peers. Subscribers grew too, while today's viewing is above the channel's usual daily pace. The screaming contest remains the busiest of the new releases, even with that unwelcome Cat knocking around the catalog.
