"I learned to write, produce and release my own music (no AI)" is the video still doing the rounds on Mike Boyd's channel, a month after it went up. The challenge is the one his whole channel is built on, learning a skill as fast as he can, only this time the finished product lives beyond the video: the songs are out on streaming services under the name microboyd.

Nothing new arrived this week, so the older catalog carried things. The music video is by far the busiest of them, well ahead of two spring entries in his "This week I learned" format. One is Japanese dorodango, the craft of polishing a ball of mud into a glossy sphere. The other is the old trick of lighting a match with a fingernail, which the description admits has more to it than meets the eye.

The subscriber count sat still. Among challenge and stunt channels, he is third of nine by subscribers, just behind NDL and Chunkz. Ben Azelart Top Videos had the lively week in that group, running above its usual pace, while Mike's channel ticked along on work he had already put out.
