Sam Reich, The Rookie and a Dropout cameo: Mashable's 1.7 million

Vic Michaelis and Jacquis Neal told Kristy Puchko how Dropout landed on a network cop show, and the clip is still the channel's busiest at sixteen days old.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Mashable's busiest video right now is not one of this week's. It is Vic Michaelis and Jacquis Neal, two familiar faces from Dropout's comedy shows, telling entertainment editor Kristy Puchko how Sam Reich got Game Changer onto The Rookie, the ABC police drama starring Nathan Fillion. Sixteen days in, it has passed 1.7 million views, the kind of total an interview clip on this channel rarely reaches. Its companion, on why Reich greenlit Crowd Control before the pilot even aired, sits close behind among the channel's busiest.

The week itself brought three new uploads. Puchko returned with a longer conversation, Erin Lee Carr on her Hulu documentary The Swan: Behind the Mirror, a look back at the 2000s makeover show and a reunion with its contestants. Carr, whose earlier films include Britney vs Spears, talks through interviewing the show's producers and doctors and how to film body horror without exposing the women who lived it.

The other two are the same red-carpet moment cut twice: Dominic West and Sienna Miller on the first episode of HBO's War, where Miller's character is served divorce papers in front of the cameras. Miller says that in real life she would have fled to a bathroom to cry.

Overall the channel moved at about half its usual daily pace, and subscribers held steady. Among similar movie and TV channels, the big week belonged to 酱sir电影局, while Mashable sat near the quiet end, alongside Hello Future Me.
