Half a fence, a sunset view and Maggie McGaugh's backyard gamble
Her husband cut the brand-new fence down to open up the view, and the comments filled with neighbors, bylaws and wildflower plans.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
We cut our brand new fence in half, and I’m so glad. 😏
Maggie McGaugh's channel runs at a steady clip of around 300,000 views a day, and it held that pace without any fireworks. Two new uploads went up, and the better one is about a fence that got shorter on purpose.
"We cut our brand new fence in half, and I'm so glad" is exactly the kind of project her about text promises: a DIY job done with a grin. The fence was barely finished before part of it came down to open up the view behind the house, keeping the rest for privacy. It opened with more than 30,000 views on its first day and is now past 50,000.
The comments are where it gets lively. The land past the fence apparently belongs to the city, and a lot of viewers had ideas about it. The most popular one is to scatter native wildflower seeds out there. Others want the trees left alone, for the birds, for shade and to hold the hillside together, and a few suggest checking the local rules before any branch gets trimmed. Someone brought up Robert Frost's line about good fences, and plenty simply stopped to admire the view.
The second upload, a test of whether mystery boxes save their best stuff for influencers, went up only a few hours ago. Meanwhile a 1970s entryway makeover from nine days back is still drawing viewers at about the same rate as the fence. A month-old lamp video, her second try after a $239 lamp, in the title's words, "infuriated the internet," is closing in on a million.
The Reynolds Recommend and bella stoltman, two neighbors in the shopping and product-testing crowd, had the bigger weeks, and about a thousand new subscribers joined Maggie's 352,000.

If I was you I would be tossing SO many native wildflower seeds in that back city owned area. It would be beautiful.
@co8568See it on YouTube"Good fences make good neighbors." From a poem by Robert Frost. In this instance you ROCKED the fences usefulness. Cut part for the view, the other for privacy.
