Tony Yeboah's 1995 volley against Wimbledon carries Leeds United through a pause
The club posted nothing new in seven days, and a fourteen-day-old clip of a 31-year-old goal is the one people keep finding.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Tony Yeboah Scores One of the GREATEST Premier League Goals! 🤯
Among the football clubs, leagues and media channels close to its size, Leeds United Official sits in the middle on subscribers and near the bottom on views added this week, with a little under 170,000. Clip and compilation channels such as FutbolEssence and Zedsnap are having the big weeks; the club's own channel is resting.
No new uploads went up, so the archive did the talking. The busiest video is a short of Tony Yeboah against Wimbledon on 23 September 1995, a strike into the top corner in a 4-2 win in which the Ghanaian striker scored twice. The description calls it one of the greatest goals in Premier League history, and plenty of Leeds supporters would not argue. Yeboah's spell at Elland Road was short, but goals like this one, and his famous volley against Liverpool the month before, made him a cult hero.
Behind it come two clips from this season: the second goal of a 4-1 win over Newcastle, billed simply as the cross, the goal, the crowd and the noise, and a reel of defender Tarik Muharemović against Crystal Palace.
The channel is drawing a little less each day than it usually does, and the subscriber count held level at 533,000. For now, the most-watched new thing on the official Leeds channel is a goal older than most of the current squad.
