How to spot an undercover cop: Law By Mike's nine-million-view lesson
Michael Mandell's newest legal explainer arrived on September 29, four days after a 100-day experiment buying AI scam ads.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
How To Spot An Undercover Cop
Barely a day and a half old, "How To Spot An Undercover Cop" is already close to nine million views, and six million of those came in its first 24 hours. For a channel that has turned everyday legal questions into quick, punchy lessons, the subject is a natural fit: who might be a police officer in plain clothes, and what the law actually says about it. Like many of his videos, it carries the usual reminder that this is public legal information, not advice for anyone's own case.
It was one of only two uploads. The other, "I Bought EVERY AI Scam Ad For 100 Days," went up on September 25 and has passed a million views. It is a longer-haul idea than his usual format, and a timely one, as scam ads built with AI tools keep turning up in feeds.
The older catalog is doing its share. "Real Ways People Escaped Prison," two weeks old, is still drawing well over a million views a day, and "Kids Vs Adults: Prison Around The World" has crossed twenty million. Prisons, it seems, are a reliable draw for Mike's audience.
The channel is also adding subscribers quickly, close to a hundred thousand a day. That keeps it the biggest name among the true crime and court channels nearest to it in size. Dr Insanity and LegalEagle are both running above their usual pace too, while Law&Crime Network is a little quieter than normal.
