It is a fitting stunt for a channel whose about text describes a former NFL offensive lineman and a team that push the limits on what they can build, mixing woodworking with metal, epoxy and the occasional home renovation. A workbench is the most humble project in any shop, which is perhaps the joke: the piece of furniture that usually demands the most care, built by eye.

Behind it, two late-summer videos are still ticking along. "Guess the Tool DEWALT Edition!" is a quiz-style short, and "I Built 2 Coffee Tables in 8 Hours," billed in its description as Boss vs Employee, has passed a million and a half views in just over a month.

With a single upload, the channel's daily views are running at well under half their usual level, so this was a slower stretch overall. Among the DIY and building channels near Malecki's size, Matthias Wandel is the one having a busy week, running at about three times his normal pace, while WifiEli, Rudan Brothers and 5MadMovieMakers are a little below theirs, and Gabie Vigneault and Blacktail Studio Uncut hold steady.
