A used excavator, bought from Home Depot, for jakkuh's farm
Jake's only upload of the week passed 900,000 views in four days, after promising himself he would never again buy a machine at auction sight unseen.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I accidentally bought an excavator from Home Depot
Jake has promised himself things before. After his last excavator, bought at auction without a proper look, he swore off buying heavy machinery sight unseen. So the new one came from somewhere more respectable, The Home Depot, and the description lays out the questions the video sets out to answer: how do you even get a used excavator from a hardware chain, how rough is it, and was he scammed again?
"I accidentally bought an excavator from Home Depot" was the only video of the week, and it carried the channel. It drew about 600,000 views on its first day and is now past 900,000. For someone whose about text reads, in full, "pew pew computers pew pew networking," the farm keeps pulling the channel a long way from the server rack.
The comments read like a running tab. The most liked one suggests a second channel called "Later Jake," for all the jobs that keep getting pushed down the road. Another wants a Ditch Witch so he can run fiber to every corner of the property, which would at least bring the networking back. Several people simply count the machines and wonder when the construction company opens. A few eyes sharp enough to catch a timestamp spotted former LTT faces near the end, Jake's old Linus Media Group colleagues back together for a scene.
The farm has momentum beyond the new video. "This is What a $40,000 Inspection Looks Like," about whether his electrical service upgrade would pass, has gone past a million views. His iPhone 18 Pro unboxing is still collecting views too, a reminder that the gadgets haven't gone anywhere.
Views overall are running slower than usual, but the channel still added about 7,000 subscribers. Among the similar tech channels around his size, only Retro Game Corps, in a big week of its own, gathered more views. Barnacules Nerdgasm and Soldier Knows Best stayed quiet.
