Sniffing through Tokyo: Insert Richie at the Logitech G Play Event

Two uploads went up, a Japan trip and a fighter-pilot turn in Ace Combat 8, as the channel's lifetime views moved past a very lucky-looking 777 million.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Insert Richie's channel sums him up in five words, "I unbox and sniff," and he took the habit abroad. His first upload of the week followed him to Tokyo for Logitech G's Play Event. Going by the comment section, the signature move made the trip intact. One of the most liked replies says he sniffed the whole room, and another spins a small legend about a mouse that never came back. Below those, a stream of Japanese viewers thank him for coming, several of them in Japanese. One says it is the first comment they have ever left.

The second upload swapped the airline seat for a cockpit. "I Became a Fighter Pilot in Ace Combat 8" puts him into the newest chapter of Bandai Namco's long-running flight series. Within a day it was already the channel's busiest video, close to 120,000 views.

The late-summer hardware is still pulling plenty of viewers on its own. The unboxing of a 24K gold-plated, 720 Hz ROG OLED monitor has passed three million views and keeps adding more every day, as does the video celebrating 20 years of ROG. Together they have helped the whole channel run a little above its usual daily pace. Along the way it crossed 777 million lifetime views and picked up about 10,000 subscribers.

Among the tech channels near his size, only Parker Burton gained more views over the week. Switch and Click and ETA PRIME are also running well above their usual pace, while Techmoan and Brandon Butch are having calmer weeks. Richie, meanwhile, is somewhere between a Tokyo showroom and a dogfight, nose first.
