A 23-year-old, a 40-ton truck and a night ferry to England
Girl Truck Routine posted nothing new, and an eight-day-old silent vlog crossing the English Channel passed 1.3 million views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Woman in a Male-Dominated Industry European Truck Driver Vlog
No new uploads went up on Girl Truck Routine, and the channel hardly noticed. The video doing most of the work arrived just before the pause: "Woman in a Male-Dominated Industry European Truck Driver Vlog," eight days old and already past 1.3 million views.
It is a full day in one sitting, told without a word of narration. The description introduces her as 23 and behind the wheel of a 40-ton truck, and the chapters follow the route: a quiet morning in the cab, ferry check-in, coffee on board, a fuel stop, then cooking and sleeping at a truck stop in England. Coffee is the running thread. She writes that she drinks a lot of it to stay awake and keep filming, and that a good cup is hard to find on the road.
Two older videos keep moving behind it. A late-summer night crossing in a hot truck has passed two million, and so has the start of a very different project: an old military truck she bought to rebuild, slowly and mostly by herself, into an off-grid expedition home on wheels.
The channel added about 7,000 subscribers over the seven days, and its daily views ran a little under their usual pace. Even so, among the vlog and daily-life channels nearest its size, none gained more views over the week, Coral_Jam and Amber Alexander included. Most of that group ran quieter than normal, while Mandy's iPhone was one of the few moving above its usual pace.
