"How to draw triangle beginner to legend" does what its title says: one shape, drawn at rising levels of ambition. It is the newest Short on DTM_art, a channel whose about text calls its maker a "Beginner Artist without knowledge", and it passed 50,000 views in its first 14 hours.

The comment section is split on the final stage. Some viewers simply call it good. Others point out, fairly bluntly, that the legend version is not really a triangle anymore, which may be the whole joke.

It was one of five uploads. "4 ways to draw Spider" went up the same day and is close behind. Earlier in the week came a star, a step-by-step Mr. Bean and a Minecraft trio of creeper, enderman and ghast. The description calls that last one "cute mobs that are not in the game", meaning cuter versions than Mojang ever made.

The real engine is older, though. A Spider-Man drawn in different variants, Spider-Verse style, is four weeks old and past three million views, and it is still pulling in more each day than anything new.

The channel had a slightly calmer week than usual and gained about 3,000 subscribers. Among the art and craft channels nearest its size, only abbyrosecases added more views over the week. Mister Brush ran above its usual pace, while Bart Does Art was quieter than normal.
