"I forced Twitch Chat to fight in a massive Fantasy War" is the one new video on DougDougDoug, the second channel where Doug puts the stream material he calls too rotten for the main one. The setup is simple and the result is not: chat is split into four fantasy factions and set loose in Pax Historia, an AI-driven strategy game, with Doug running the war.
The comments read like a history book written by the losers. Viewers keep returning to the gnomes and orcs taking turns getting the dragons hooked and hungry, then pointing them at each other, a plan that backfired on both. Others mention a general who suddenly wanted to be a poet until Doug shut it down, the wizards countering time travel on the very turn it was first proposed, and the orcs turning, almost by unanimous agreement, into Warhammer orcs. Several say the factions organized their own groups on Discord to plan their moves, and one of the most liked replies calls the whole thing a main channel video in a trench coat.
It drew close to half a million views on its first day and has passed 860,000 since, and it is easily the busiest thing on the channel right now. Behind it, a summer stream about chat's favorite commercials, past 2.8 million, keeps ticking along.
The channel as a whole ran a little below its usual pace, and the subscriber count sat still at about 1.06 million. Among the let's-play and variety channels nearest its size, DougDougDoug drew the third most views of the week, behind MoistCr1TiKaL Gaming and KingWoolz Games.
