A ghost inspector in Japan and a greasy exhaust fan on Delisha En
Five shorts went up, from a fish-holding endurance contest to the making of traditional Chinese seal ink paste.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Hold The Fish Endurance Competition #shorts
On a usual day Delisha En draws something over half a million views, the steady hum of a clips channel with well over two billion in total. Right now it is running at about two thirds of that, and the five new shorts of the week are a big part of why: none of them has broken out yet.
They are a tidy sample of what the channel's about page promises, real-world footage that is interesting. There is a car caught mid-drift, a short on how traditional Chinese seal ink paste is made (the red paste that gives a carved seal its stamp), and a job title most people have never heard: ghost inspector, in Japan. The title does not say who is doing the inspecting.
The most watched of the batch is "Hold The Fish Endurance Competition #shorts," which passed 50,000 views. Its comment section is mostly trying to work out who won by looking at faces, and at least one viewer realized late that the giant fish itself is the prize.
The newest videos are the ones still moving. "How a Dirty Exhaust Fan Can Start a Fire #shorts," four days old, is gathering more each day than anything else on the channel, with the ghost inspector close behind. Perhaps a fire-safety lesson simply keeps finding people who own a kitchen fan.
Among clips channels of similar size, Mind Boost and Hurly had the very big weeks. Delisha En sits in the quieter half, alongside The Blue Magazine and Valuetainment Comedy.
