On DC's official channel it passed 1.3 million views in its first 12 hours, a remarkable start for a comic-book announcement on a channel more often busy with film and series clips.
The teaser opens on hope. "A new world of heroes rose," the text says, over redesigned versions of Batman on a motorcycle, Superman in a fight and Wonder Woman in flight. Then the turn: "That was a mistake." Shadowy villains, scientists and corporate figures take over the panels, Amanda Waller among them, before a closing warning to "abandon all hope." The final image sets the assembled team under a glowing green alien skull.
The heroes come from DC's Absolute Universe, the line launched in 2024 that rebuilds familiar characters from new starting points. Absolute Justice is billed as a five-issue event, written by Jason Aaron, who also writes Absolute Superman, with art by Juan Ferreyra. The on-screen date is April 2027.
The comment section is far busier than a usual first day on the channel. That reversal line is the moment many viewers single out. Others compare the gathering to the first Avengers film, and some note that it took about two years to bring the books together. The requests are specific: more Absolute Martian Manhunter, and a first look at an Absolute Aquaman.
