Watermelon forks, a hammer and a paint sprayer for DaveHax
Five shorts went up, half of them about melons, before Dave Hax took his gadgets out to the garden fence.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Coolest Gadget For Watermelon
Dave Hax spent the first half of his week with watermelons. A watermelon fork that cubes the fruit as you eat it opened the run, a melon gadget billed as giving a beautiful result followed, and in between came a challenge to see whether one slicer could get through five different fruits and vegetables.
The fork is the most watched of the new uploads, at close to 190,000 views. But the melon short with the most energy right now is an older one. "A hammer was the only way," his test of a triangular watermelon cutter, is eight days old and is drawing far more views each day than anything posted since. The title suggests the gadget needed some help.
Then the tests moved outdoors. A battery leaf blower went to work in the garden, and the newest short has a battery paint sprayer on his fence. Nine hours after it went up, it was gathering views faster than any of the week's other new uploads.
Further back, a rice ball maker from three weeks ago has passed seven and a half million views and is still busy. A twist-top cup durability test from early summer is not far behind it.
Among the DIY and home channels nearest DaveHax in size, Blossom and Architectural Digest are both running above their usual daily pace.
