A crocodile, a cube and a cave studio keep Cusack Creatures humming
Crocodile and Cube's first episode, "Writing", has now gathered about 390,000 views, while Damo and Darren take the bus.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Crocodile and Cube: In The Studio - Ep.1 "Writing"
No new cartoons. The Silly Cartoon Factory, as Michael Cusack's channel calls itself, sat out the week, and its older shelf carried on a little above its usual daily pace.
The busiest corner is a musical one. In "Crocodile and Cube: In The Studio - Ep.1 "Writing"", Crocodile has the musical ideas and none of the technical know-how. His friend Cube runs an audio studio inside a cave, knows heaps about sound and has libraries to spare, but has little interest in writing songs of his own. The first episode is well over a year old and is still the channel's most watched video right now. Its follow-up, Ep.2 "Guitar", where Crocodile finally lays down the guitars, is close behind it on the same shelf.
Between the two sits "Damo and Darren 6 - "The Bus"", the latest of the two mates' outings credited to Cusack as writer, and the busier of the pair. Cusack is also the Australian animator behind Hulu's Smiling Friends, which he co-created with Zach Hadel, so the scratchy, deadpan humor here will look familiar to fans of that show.
The subscriber count held still at about 390,000. Among the animation channels nearest its size, the big weeks belonged to TortillaDelta13 and Cutiepaw3D, and Toon Animals ran ahead of its usual pace. Cusack's corner was one of the calmer ones, with a crocodile and a cube still at work on their song.
