Destroyer, a Crypt TV short about a partner's secrets
Judd Myers directs Frank Mosley, Anna Seregina and Justin Locklear in a descent toward something non-human.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Destroyer | Short Film
Among the TV networks and streaming services of similar size, Crypt TV sits third by subscribers, just behind 60 Minutes and BBC Studios. It runs on a very different scale for views, though. Peacock and the Oscars routinely draw well over a million a day, while Crypt TV lives on a steady trickle of scary stories.
The week's centerpiece was "Destroyer | Short Film," posted on September 25. The description sets it up as the story of an insecure man whose need to know his partner's secrets pulls him into an underworld, where he makes contact with something non-human. Judd Myers directed and edited it and co-wrote it with Kyle Montgomery. Frank Mosley, Anna Seregina and Justin Locklear star, and the special thanks include the Austin Film Society. Its first day came close to what the whole channel usually draws in a day, and it has since settled into a gentler pace. Four days in, it is still the busiest video on the channel.
The rest of the eight uploads were small, hashtag-titled shorts. A throwback to the channel's BZRK was one of them. The liveliest of the shorts is a day-old one called "Where is she going?", already running faster than anything else from the week except the film.
