Jeff Teague spent his week arguing with Trae Young, at least on camera. In the short leading Club 520's fifteen uploads, Jeff pushes back on Young's idea that defenses will treat him differently now that he is in Washington, and it passed 300,000 views in its first day and a half.
There is some history in the pairing. Teague ran the point for the Hawks before Young arrived in Atlanta, so a former Hawks guard is weighing in on the next one. The comment section mostly takes the other side: plenty of viewers say defenses double big scorers all the time in the playoffs, others point to the rookie Washington just drafted, and one of the most liked notes jokes that Jeff's shifting takes are exactly why people keep watching.
The newest short may be the one to watch. Posted Sunday, "Jeff picks Shaq OVER LeBron to start his team" is gathering views almost as quickly as the Trae clip, and a story about switching to number 00 on the Hawks is not far off. The one longer upload, with DJ Wells, Mook and B Hen debating whether the Celtics are a top three team in the East after adding Paul George, moved at a calmer pace.
All told, the channel ran well above its usual daily rhythm, and only Toni and Ryan added more views among the podcast channels nearest its size. Subscribers barely moved, which leaves Club 520 a little over 70,000 short of a million.
