Back to the ollie: Braille Skateboarding returns to lesson one
A short on the trick every skater learns first arrived a week after a mall grab with a cheeky name.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What does a channel with more than five and a half million subscribers post when it wants to start at the beginning? The ollie. Braille Skateboarding's newest short, "How to Ollie on a skateboard!", goes straight to the jump that nearly every other street trick is built on, and it fits a channel whose about text promises to teach people new to skating how to ride.
It is one of two uploads. The other, "Poser mall grab.", went up on September 24 and has gathered around 44,000 views in a week. The name is a skater's joke: a mall grab is holding your board by the truck while walking around, a habit the culture has long teased as a sign of someone who carries a board more than they ride it. Its tags, like every video here, carry the name of Aaron Kyro, the skater who founded Braille and built it on lessons for beginners.
The ollie short is less than half a day old but is already gathering views faster than the mall grab. Behind both sits "Then VS Now...", a nine-day-old upload that is still finding a steady trickle of viewers.
Among the sports channels grouped with it, Braille is the fourth largest by subscribers, in a set where cricket boards, a tennis Grand Slam and a golf channel make up most of the company. Rick Shiels Golf is having the standout stretch, running at roughly three times its usual daily pace, and the Australian Open is busier than usual too. Braille's week was smaller in scale and stuck to the basics.
