Frodo chases out the fake burglar in a guard-dog test

BoltMotivation's compilation brings together staged break-ins from Inside Edition, Fox 8 Cleveland and the Golden Kobe Family.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,008,323 views a day, 11 times a normal first day on this channel (92,236).

The intruder is pretending. The dogs, however, have very different responses to a masked visitor entering their homes.

In BoltMotivation's Short, a Doberman watches, a Cane Corso hides behind the couch, and a yellow Labrador heads out the front door when the visitor stages an attack on her owner. Then comes Ellen's prediction about her small dog: "I think Frodo is really going to go after the attacker."

Frodo and another small dog do exactly that, charging toward the intruder and chasing him outside. The smallest dogs in this particular compilation provide its most forceful response.

The clips channel's upload has reached roughly 700,000 views in 12 hours, already well beyond its usual full-day audience for a Short. Its comment section is also unusually busy, with more than nine times the comments a typical upload receives on its first day.

Rather than simply debating which breed makes the best guard dog, several viewers question the test itself: could the dogs recognize familiar people or pick up that their owners were only pretending to be frightened? Others point to training rather than size. Those are viewers' interpretations, but they give the compilation a second question beyond its title: what does a staged break-in actually tell an owner?
