Water-grown plants and winter beds at Amish Gardening

Elias Yoder's five uploads explore regrowing kitchen staples, greenhouse heat and keeping ginger for another harvest.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Green onions, celery and lettuce offer a small-scale starting point in Amish Gardening's most watched new upload: a garden that begins in water rather than soil. "9 PLANTS THAT GROWS IN WATER (NO SOIL NEEDED)" has drawn about 2,900 views, narrowly more than the week's greenhouse-heating project.

The useful distinction is in the description: starting a plant in water doesn't necessarily mean keeping it there indefinitely. Some plants will need nutrients or a move into soil for long-term growth. Tomato cuttings, herbs, leeks and garlic also feature in the selection.

Elias Yoder posted five videos, with colder-weather growing running through the week. One considers winter crops and protection from frost; another explores a greenhouse heater that doesn't use mains electricity, while noting that it still needs an energy source and safe operation. "Ginger Masterclass: Plant Once, Harvest Forever!" takes a longer view, explaining how saving or leaving some rhizomes to grow can support repeat harvests, provided the plants have suitable conditions.

The strongest momentum belongs to an upload just outside this week's batch. "Building Your Soil Over the Winter—Two Cheap Methods with Cover Crops + Leaves" is drawing roughly 3,600 views a day. Its subject is pleasingly unglamorous: protecting bare beds, adding organic matter and putting fallen leaves to use. Among the new arrivals, "Plants You Should ALWAYS Grow" has the busiest daily viewing.

Across the channel, daily views are at their usual level. Nearby in subscriber size, DoingItCheap is also close to its normal daily pace, while Sort Of Interesting is having a livelier spell. For Yoder, winter soil preparation is the particular job attracting the most attention.
