SWAT team rescues 10-year-old Oregon girl abducted from home
SWAT vehicles arrive outside a house, and officers lead an individual away. ABC News' report brings footage of the police operation into the account of an abducted child's rescue in Oregon.
"We found her safe and alive," Canby Police Chief Jose Gonzalez announces in the report introduced by David Muir. According to ABC correspondent Trevor Ault, officers found the child tied up in a closet after a thirteen-hour search.
The segment adds a neighbor's account of waking to the commotion outside, alongside footage of the suspect appearing in court by video link. ABC reports that he faces charges including kidnapping, sexual abuse and attempted murder. Those are charges, not convictions.
The ABC upload drew about 177,000 views since yesterday. Its focus is the police response and the immediate court proceedings, complementing the prosecutor's explanation of the investigative evidence in the NewsNation interview covered earlier.
