Simple History's channel is moving at exactly its normal daily pace. Nearly half of that pace now comes from one upload, "Gun Tricks that can give you an Advantage in Combat." It opened strongly on Thursday and has picked up speed since, which is not how most new videos behave on day three. It is already past two-thirds of a million views.

The other five uploads ran on a smaller scale. "WWII Veteran's 1911 Hang Fire Kills Thief" and the day-old "He Shot a Saguaro… and It Fell Back" are the next busiest, well behind. The week started more somberly, with "The Forgotten Concentration Camp," and took one cheerful detour: "How a Mom's Garage Shipped 80,000 Silly Strings."

Among the explainer and history channels listed alongside it, Simple History sits sixth by subscribers but third by daily views. That puts it ahead of the larger 3Blue1Brown and Johnny Harris, with only Extra History and a far-out-front BradyYourTutor drawing more.
