Video taking off 16x its usual first day

The New York Times' 'Breaking Bad' verdict opens fifteenfold

An argument naming the best series of the century neared a hundred thousand views within a day of going up.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 233,905 views a day, 16 times a normal first day on this channel (14,938).

Why ‘Breaking Bad’ Is the Best Show of the 21st CenturyWhy ‘Breaking Bad’ Is the Best Show of the 21st Century

Nearly a hundred thousand views in a day, for a video built entirely around one argument: "Why ‘Breaking Bad’ Is the Best Show of the 21st Century." The New York Times posted it on Sunday, and it has been moving at about fifteen times the pace a new upload on the channel usually starts with.

The title does not hedge. It names one winner for a whole century of television, and maybe a claim that bold is hard to scroll past for anyone who has a favorite of their own.

The show at the center of it needs little introduction. Vince Gilligan's drama ran on AMC from 2008 to 2013 and followed Bryan Cranston's Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who turned to making methamphetamine.
